In the last weeks I was searching for my Kelly/Shelly Fashion that I bought between 1995 and 1997. Here I want you to show the first four fashions with an outfit for Barbie and the same outfit in smaller size for Shelly. There were more outfits to buy in the following years but I didn’t know how much exactly. I think there were 12 outfits in general. Here are my first four fashions. My Models are the Shopping Fun Barbie and Shelly. Of course I still have the shoes but I lent them to other Barbies without shoes.
Kebaya Barbie -Greetings from Malaysia
My Barbie has a new hairdo now
As I wrote yesterday I gave my Malibu Barbie head a full reroot. Yesterday I started to style her. Since she has so much hairs now I needed more time than I expected to give her a new hairdo. I wanted for her a very extraordinary style because she will get a very special dress. I tried to give her a hairdo like Empress Elisabeth from Austria in a very famous painting with a kind of modern style. So here is my result. 🙂
My first Barbie reroot
My Mermaid Barbie dolls
Today I’d like to show you my mermaid Barbie dolls. This series is called Jewel Hair Mermaid -series. The most important characteristic feature is the long hair. They are the Barbie dolls with the longest hair ever produced.
In the pictures below you can see the Jewel Hair Mermaid Barbie (afro-american version), the Jewel Hair Mermaid Midge and the Jewel Hair Mermaid Teresa.
The Pajama Fun Series
Today I gonna show you a series from 1999 called Pajama Fun -Series. Available were Skipper, Nikki and Courtney. This is the first time Courtney has red hair. In the early 1990s she was a brunette. This is also the first time that the afro-american friend Nikki has a new hairdo. It’s hard to explain how it exactly looks. The Barbie from this Series was a Target exclusive. She has the same nightgown that Skipper wears. The only difference are the colors. Although this series wasn’t available in Europe and especially made for the U.S. market I got them from other collectors from Germany.
A happy new Barbie year
Finally I have some free time to write a new article. I was home for Christmas and came back 10 days ago. My Christmas gift was the Pink Splendor Barbie. I wanted her since 1999 when I saw her the first time ( although she was released in 1996). Since the prices for Barbie dolls are not the highest ones in history at the moment I found a seller who sold her for a good price.
To be honest I was amazed when I opened the shipper to get her box out of the shipper. My first thought when I saw her was “wow”. She came in the biggest box I have ever seen anf she filled the box out. I’m happy to have her in my collection now.
Greetings from Asia
At my first convention visit in Hamburg, Germany last May I bought the Chinese New Year 2009 doll. I had seen her before but she was not available for a good price before. She was especially made for the asian market. In Germany she was hard to find. I didn’t expect her to be available on a convention. I’m sorry for the pics but the box reflected the light in such a bad way that there was merely chance to take good pics. I didn’t want to debox her for the occasion of taking pictures.
One of my favorite Designer Barbie from the last year
For the last x-mas I got the Golden Legacy Barbie as x-mas present from my parents. Since I wanted her for my collection I was happy when she arrived several days before x-mas. I think she’s one of the best Bob Mackie dolls ever. So here a a few pics of her.
Her sisters will follow in the coming weeks.
A first impression of my (Shelly)Kelly Collection
Now I want you to show several little (Shellys) Kellys from my (Shelly) Kelly Collection. They are from the rare Pool Fun Series. I’m not sure whether they were available in Europe in general. The only one I found with a european Box is the Marisa doll. I’m proud to be able to show you the black Kelly as well as the rest of this series.
