The last local store for fabric purchase is not equipped well and they don’t order if you search for a special fabric they don’t have in store.

In my case it was two fabrics I liked from the “Flower Power” fabric collection from 2023. I’ve hardly ever experienced such a bad customer service and believe me the customer service in Germany is already non-existent.

Things like Remove Zit, Poliboy or dental tabs for Vintage Barbie with Green Ears

Another challenge that can arise when restoring Barbie dolls is the removal of green ears. Vintage Barbie dolls with green ears often suffered from this problem, but luckily, there is a simple solution. You have different options when you treat green ears. You can use Remove Zit when you get it in your country. There’s also a liquid with the name Poliboy for cleaning silver available in Europe. Danchlorix is another secret weapon I heard of but never used it until now. It’s a liquid used for cleaning toilets. Recently I head of a new solution called Bar Keepers Friend Power Cream available via amazon but I have neither used Danchlorix nor Power Cream.

Dental tabs are highly effective at removing yellow, and they work just as well on Barbie’s skin as they do on our own. Simply apply the dental tabs over night or over two nights, let the head rest in the solution as long as the yellow is gone, and then gently let the head dry on a towel.

Please be careful when using CLR, a cleaner wide spread in the USA. When used like Poliboy it can destroy the head in the long term. I don’t know about the content but a chemist who worked in the doll production industry wrote about the problem in his book that I can recommend to all of you.

An electric kettle is useful for different things

From taking Barbie head, legs and arms to hair style an electric kettle is versatile for Barbie restoration. For removing heads, arms or legs or restoring hair and curls it’s a super versatile thing to have.

We also should mention here that a toothbrush is always useful when you are working with Barbie. Especially when your dolls are older than 40 years they can become fragile and it’s a good idea to use a toothbrush to bring their hair in shape again. Bobby pins are another secret weapon when you have to deal with Vintage Barbie dolls ( 1959 – 1966) to get the curls back in they may have lost over the years.

My Tropical Ken from Congost embarked on a journey of a lifetime. After weeks of anticipation and excitement, he finally arrived at his destination in Germany. However, there was a slight hiccup in the last delivery that threatened to delay his highly anticipated arrival.

There’s no need to understand why via Denmark. I even tried to contact the hub in Denmark to get him delivered to me but the only things I got to hear was that I contacted the wrong subsidy of DHL. They possibly could have helped me but who cares?

Had someone with knowledge of the area stumbled upon the missing comma, the saga would have likely ended there. However, this unfortunate oversight left Congost Ken’s package untraceable, causing frustration for all parties involved. Nothing is more exciting than chasing and tracking your parcels every day.

Many many years ago a friend of my parents wrote a postcard from his vacation. Instead of the postal code a part of the phone number of my parents was written down. You may be surprised but the card arrived at my parent’s with a little delay but it arrived with the request to tell the friend the right postal code for the next card. From my own experience I can tell you that I also do mistakes concerning postal codes. Last year I ordered mountain cheese from Austria for the whole family. Being in hurry I changed the numbers in the postal code but the city and the street of my parents were correct. It was delivered despite mistake but it was not DHL that delivered last year. Be sure that this year I check the postal code of my parents twice before I order anything.

When she reached out to DHL, they claimed that the postman could not find my doorbell, hence the failed delivery attempt. She couldn’t help but feel incredulous at this response. She knew for a fact that her doorbell was functioning perfectly fine. Unfortunately, lazy postmen seem to have become a standard problem in Germany, and she couldn’t help but wonder if this was the case in her situation as well. Speaking German has become a big problem to all the postmen somehow.

Driven by frustration, she decided to take matters into my own hands. Busy B diligently continued tracking the package and was surprised to discover that it had somehow ended up in Denmark in the last few days. In a last-ditch effort, she contacted DHL Denmark, hoping they could shed some light on the situation and assist her in retrieving her long-awaited Tropical Congost Ken.

To her dismay, DHL Denmark informed me that they were unable to help me as she had reached out to the wrong division of DHL.
