Todd

About two weeks ago I found this little Todd on a flea market. He’s from 1974 or 1975 and wears his navy shirt and parts from the outfit  #7986 called “Hubschangezogen”, an outfit only available in Europe.

Just finished a new reroot

Today I finished the Beauty Secrets Barbie doll that I found on the flea market several weeks ago. Her hair was in such a bad condition that I immediately decided to do a reroot. Last weekend I finally found the time to do it. So here is the result.

At first the middle parting

The most difficult part of the head

Middle part and right side is done.

Left side isn't done yet

After 80% or 85% of work

Left side isn't finished here.

Look at the result.

I used a two tone color.

I like it.

My first ooak

Today I wanna show you the result from my first ooak-try. I used the head that I have rerooted in March. In the meantime I found a body for the doll and dressed her with my self-made friendship-bracelet dress. To do a single bracelet lasted between two and twenty hours (depending on the pattern). So in general I can say I put a lot of work in this dress. Hope you like it 🙂

It's crazy. Isn't it?

Phone Fun Courtney

To complete my favorite series from Skipper doll and her friend Courtney I was searching for the last Courtney to complete my collection. A few days ago I got an offer for the Courtney and I bought her. So here she comes… Phone Fun Courtney from 1995. Now she can phone Skipper. I bought the Skipper back in 1995 when she was available. I deboxed my Skipper but I never really played with her.

Perparing a new reroot

Last Sunday I was on a flea market and found a Beatuy Secrets Barbie doll with a lot of missing hair. Today I prepared the head for new hair. I cut the existing hair and put the rest out with several tools. Here is the result. The head is bold. Next step ist waiting for the new hair to arrive.

The right side from the head

First step: Cut the hair very short. To cut the hair makes it easy to get the hair out of the head.

Right side of the head after step one.

Step two: Put the short hair out of the head.

After step number two you have a bold head without hairs. It's now time to decide what hair color to choose.

Nikki has finally arrived here

After a long journey the Totally Yoyo Nikki doll has finally arrived here.  She has completed my favorite Teen Skipper series. Now that I have the whole Totally Yoyo series I want to show them to you. The first one from this series that I bought was the Totally Yoyo Skipper in 2008.  Suddenly in May 2011 the other two were offered and I bought them. Courtney arrived here about three weeks ago and Nikki arrived here yesterday. An interesting fact to know is that the Nikki doll from the promo pics were a short skirt but obviously it was replaced by the same skirt Courtney wears only in different colors.

In the next weeks to come…

As theme for my next article I will write a bit about the Totally Yoyo -Series from 1998. It was the second series to use the Teen Skipper. At the moment I’m still waiting for the Totally Yoyo Nikki to arrive here. I will post pics from the whole series as far as she arrives here.

First Teen Skipper doll

Today I wanna show you another part from my Teen Skipper collection. The difference between the Skipper dolls from before 1996 and the ones produced in 1996 is that the Teen Skipper has the same size like Barbie. Before 1996 they were smaller than Barbie dolls. Maybe this was an attempt to make Skipper more interesting for little girls. Her friend Courtney, who was a brunette til 1996, became a redhaired friend later. Skipper also got a new friend called Nikki(aa – doll).
Very interesting to know is that there is a difference in the facial painting between the Courtney made for the european Market and the US Market. I gonna make a picture for comparison in the next days.
